In the 1970s, Minnesota was the center of Greco-Roman wrestling in the United States. With the Minnesota Wrestling Club continually developing talent with the aid of international coaches, athletes and training partners, the club that become the Minnesota Storm always had an international flare.

While in Tampere, Finland at the 2017 Junior World Wrestling Championships, Jason Bryant talked with 1979 World champion and 1980 Olympic silver medalist Andrzej Supron about his trips to the United States and what it was like for him to come to the U.S. in a time where the foundations of Greco-Roman in the country were being founded.

Supron won seven World and Olympic medals from 1974-1983. His chance of winning a second Olympic medal were dashed in 1984 as the Communist Block boycotted the 1984 Games in retaliation for the U.S.-led boycott of the 1980 Olympics in Moscow.

One of the most dedicated forces to promoting wrestling globally is from Minnesota. No, he doesn't live there now, but LeSueur native Bill May has been steadily churning out news, notes and rankings for nearly four decades.

May, who wrestled at St. Thomas and for the Minnesota Wrestling Club, left the U.S. decades ago and has been one of the most knowledgable wrestling journalists in the world. His career has taken him to numerous Olympic Games and World Championships and on Episode 30 of The Guillotine Grapevine, May will explain his journey from Minnesota to Japan to his home now in the Czech Republic.

Bill's a fun guy and is one of the world's top experts on women's wrestling. We'll look at things beyond the sport and how the Helen Maroulis gold medal changed women's wrestling.

The first official episode of the Guillotine Grapevine takes us to two local campuses in the Twin Cities as we visit Augsburg College to meet with three-time Greco-Roman World Team member Jordan Holm to get a little bit of insight into the Minnesota Training Center and the performances of Storm athletes at the 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas.

Holm breaks down his own performance and identifies what he has to do to put himself in a position to make the Olympic Team in 2016 and win a medal. He also breaks down the performances of Andy Bisek and Bebeto Yewah, both Storm wrestlers who participated in the World Championships.

We then move across the river to the University of Minnesota and talk with four-time All-American Dylan Ness, who will be continuing his career on the senior level in Greco-Roman with the Storm. Ness breaks down what he had to do to separate himself from the comparisons to his older brother Jayson and why he's picking Greco-Roman over freestyle.

Ness also looks back on his career at The U.
